IKEA has these pre-made with clear tops…I have some that I use and I like being able to see the spices…I just made a label for the backside so I know what I’m looking at

This is just fantastic! Bravo! And a double bravo for creating that detailed post! Although I will definitely not be baking this, I love creating 3-d art quilts and have done many houses, a fabric brownstone is on my list – your inspirational gingerbread has just pushed it much further up the list!

For the bay window, I built a little template out of brown paper, and added an outside layer of parchment paper to keep the gingerbread from sticking. Oil the brown paper first, and you won’t have to worry about it scorching in the oven. I used staples to hold the template together– this helps to avoid any weird fumes that might come from heating up adhesives.

Hello, I just found you through Craft magazine. This brownstone gingerbread house is amazing! I love to bake and decorate cookies, and I love to see how other people make their unusual creations. Not sure I’ll attempt this but I really enjoyed reading your detailed explanations for each stage of the entire process.
