Preparatory Tools

Knife: Used to cut ingredients like fish, meat, and vegetables.

Cutting Board: Made of wood or hard plastic materials. Use when chopping vegetables or cutting meat. Use separate chopping boards for meat and vegetables to avoid contamination.

Can opener: Used to open cans.

Measuring glass: Used to measure large quantities of ingredients like liquid water, oil, and vinegar with fractional parts.

Measuring Spoon: Used to measure small quantities of ingredients in this fractional part.

Measuring Cup: Used to measure liquid and dry ingredients.

Mixing Bowl: This is used to mix toss and hold your ingredients.

Calendar: Used to drain excess water in vegetables or pasta noodles.

Vegetable Peeler: Used to peel vegetables.

Wire Whisk: Used for whipping eggs or batter.

Grater: Used to grate foods into pieces like cheese or root crops.

Kitchen Shear: Useful in the kitchen for cutting vegetables like alugbati or ampalaya leaves. Also practical for cutting tape, string, and removing labels from the items.

Paring knife: Used to section or decorate the fruits and vegetables.

Wooden Spoon: A ladle made of wood used to mix or combine ingredients.

Tongs: Applicable in flipping hot foods when grilling.

Soup Ladle: Large long-handled spoon. Used for soups, stews, or stocks.

Temperature scale: Used to measure the heat intensity of the food being cooked.

Strainer: Used to separate liquid and solid ingredients like flour and coconut milk.

Scarper: Made of rubber or silicone used to scrape or remove foods from the bowl. You can also use this to turn or flip eggs when cooking.

Spoon: Made of stainless steel or plastic used to spoon the liquid or lift the foods out of the pot or eat foods.

Funnel: Used to fill jars.
